About

Based in the UK, a refugee from Afghanistan turned digital creator: artist, videographer, photographer, music producer and beyond, with a passion for community.

The challenges I face being an outsider are always immense, but it doesn't just apply to non-locals. Being an outsider is not always about where you're from or how you look, but also about how you are treated and how you feel. Being or thinking different shouldn't mean you don't belong.

I am a multi-disciplinary art visionary and the vision for my art is to embrace our differences and be proud of them, not hide them, and educate those around us - no matter how small of an act.

Gaikokujin (外国人 - Japanese) directly translates to "Foreigner" in English.

If we go back far enough in history, our ancestry shows that we are all from different parts of the world, so we have more in common than we believe. I also believe if we looked with our hearts we wouldn't be so divided.

Each and every one my printed products gives towards the backbone of our communities: the youth and the struggle of minorities. I am donating 20% of ALL profits to support both Refugee organisations, working to give children and adults alike the opportunity to feel safe and achieve great things. We are all part of this universe, and no child should be deprived of basic human rights.

As we grow, my aim is to employ more female minorities, who often face a culture shock, including language barriers, therefore not given the opportunity to adapt to a new life and 'fit in'. You can help make things different.

As a former refugee I have seen and felt the issues faced by so many, including those named above and we can change this, together.

Embrace, not escape the fact we are all foreigners in one capacity or another.

I wear the icon with pride. I am Gaiko Kujin.
